All of the symptoms listed above are signs of General Anxiety Disorder (GAD).  Learning how to overcome anxiety is extremely important.  If anxiety is left untreated then you may be well on your way to your first panic attack.  For those of you that have already experienced panic attacks, I feel your pain.  Please know that you are not alone.

I was diagnosed with GAD and Panic Disorder in 1985.  Back then people hid the fact that they had GAD, often times leading a very secluded lifestyle.  Over the years I have witnessed many changes in the mental health field.   Today, there are medications used to treat GAD and Panic Disorder but I’m here to tell you that there is no magic pill.  Medications can dull the sense of anxiety however, you may still feel like something is missing in your life.

I’m am not here to tell you that medications are bad because, they helped me through some very rough times.  What I would like to share with you is learning how to overcome anxiety on your own and take back control of your life.
